JustPlay.LOL — the developer behind 1v1 LOL
Every game on this page comes from the same small studio, and they all share one stubborn rule: you should be playing within seconds of opening a tab. No installer, no launcher, no account wall.

Who they are
JustPlay.LOL is an independent developer that builds multiplayer games for the browser. They are not a large studio and they have never tried to be one — the catalogue is deliberately small, with one mechanic at the centre of it: placing a ramp, a wall, a floor or a cone, fast, while someone is shooting at you.
That focus is the whole story. Rather than shipping many games, they shipped one idea and then kept sharpening it, first as a training sandbox, then as a duel, then as a duo game. Six years on, the build-and-shoot format they popularised on the web has a long list of imitators; their version is still the one people search for by name.
The design rule: friction is the enemy
Almost every decision in a JustPlay.LOL game can be traced back to a refusal to make you wait. Matches are short. Loadouts are fixed, so there is no loot phase to sit through. Modes like Box Fight skip the drop entirely and hand you materials at the start. The games are WebGL builds, so the same code runs on a gaming PC, a phone and a school Chromebook without a separate release.
That last point turned out to matter more than anyone planned. Because there is nothing to install, the games reached an audience that could not run any other competitive shooter — which is a large part of why 1v1.LOL is still growing when flashier launches from the same period are gone. There is more on that in our history of 1v1 LOL.
What they have built
Just Build LOL
2019Build trainerA sandbox with no opponent and no guns — just the four build pieces and as much speed as you can manage. It is where the studio worked out that the building itself was the game, and it is still the cleanest place to drill ramp-wall-cone muscle memory.
1v1.LOL
2020Build-and-shoot duelThe sandbox plus an opponent, a pickaxe and a weapon wheel. Box Fight, Build Fight, Zone Wars, Party and a full battle royale, all inside a browser tab. This is the studio's flagship and the game this site is built around.
2v2.LOL
2022DuosThe same mechanics with a teammate, which changes everything about how a fight is fought: one player takes height while the other holds the angle, focus fire decides trades, and a downed partner is a decision rather than a loss.
How the games are built
The browser versions are Unity WebGL builds: the game is compiled to code the browser can execute directly and draws through the same graphics pipeline a 3D web map or a product configurator uses. In practice that means three things for you as a player.
- Nothing installs. The build is downloaded into the tab and thrown away when you close it.
- Hardware acceleration matters enormously. With it switched off, WebGL falls back to software rendering and your frame rate roughly halves. It is the single most common cause of “the game is laggy”.
- The first load is the slow one. A few megabytes come down and shaders compile before the menu appears; after that it is cached.
Is this the official site?
No — and it is worth being straight about that. 1v1.us.com is a fan site that hosts the browser build alongside guides and a catalogue of other free shooters. The game, its artwork and its trademarks belong to JustPlay.LOL. If you want the developer's own channels, their store listings and social accounts are the place to go; if you want to play right now with guides next to the player, you are already in the right place.
Where to start
If you have never played, open the 1v1.LOL player and pick Box Fight — it is the fastest way to learn what the studio actually built. Then set your keybinds properly, because the defaults are the one part of the design that has not aged well.
