What 2v2 is

2v2 is a build-and-shoot arena game built around one idea the 1v1 format cannot give you: a partner. Two duos drop into a closed arena, both sides farm and build at the same time, and the round ends when one pair is wiped. Everything you know from a duel still applies — ramp for the high ground, wall before you peek, edit rather than rebuild — but every decision now has a second person in it.

It runs in the browser with no download and no account. If you came here for 1v1.LOL, the switch above the player takes you back: that game's current build dropped its 2v2 button for a Solo/Duo toggle, which is exactly why this page runs a different game rather than the same one with different words around it.

How to start a 2v2 match

  1. Press Play above and let the lobby load.
  2. Click the mode card on the right — the one showing the current mode above the Servers and Guns buttons — to open Choose Game Mode.
  3. Pick 2v2 · DOUBLES and press ACCEPT.
  4. Press PLAY. You are matched with a partner and put against another duo.

Prefer a specific teammate? The lobby shows two OPEN PARTY slots either side of your character. Use Party & Invite at the bottom-left to send a friend a link — they fill a slot and you queue as a fixed pair.

Every mode in the game

The mode list is seven cards, each with its own win counter and an offline option if you would rather practise than queue:

ModeWhat it is
2v2 — DoublesA team-based battle where two duos build and fight together to eliminate the opposing team. This is the mode the page is here for.
1v1 — DuelsA solo duel: two players build, fight and compete to eliminate each other in a closed arena.
1v1 Box — Box-FightThe duel compressed into a single box. No rotations, no high ground to run to — walls, edits and aim only.
Zone WarsThe newest mode. A shrinking zone forces the fight into a smaller and smaller arena until somebody is left.
FFA — Free For AllA chaotic free-for-all where every player fights solo, no teams — survival, last one standing wins.
Solo — Battle RoyaleDrops all players into a large map where everyone fights alone: loot, build, survive, be the last one alive.
SandboxPractice builds. An empty map with nothing shooting back, for drilling ramps, 90s and edits.

Four habits that win 2v2 rounds

  • One builds, one shoots. Two players ramping at the same spot waste materials and block each other. Agree who takes the high ground and who holds the angle underneath it.
  • Never third-party your own partner. If they are already boxed up with an opponent, take the flank instead of adding a second body to the same wall — you are far more use cutting off the retreat.
  • Call materials, not just enemies. A partner at zero wood is a partner about to die in the open. Ten seconds farming together beats losing the round two seconds later.
  • Retake together or not at all. Rebuilding into a hold one at a time hands the other pair two clean duels. Wait, then push the same wall from two sides.

Warming up before you queue

Sandbox is the place to make building automatic — an empty map, unlimited materials, nothing shooting back. 1v1 Box is the other half of the warm-up: it strips rotations out entirely, so the only things left to practise are wall replacements, edits and aim. Both carry over directly into a duo round, where the wall you take back a half-second faster is a wall your partner does not have to fight through.

Frequently asked questions about 2v2

How do I start a 2v2 match?

Press Play above, then click the mode card on the right of the lobby to open Choose Game Mode. Pick the 2v2 Doubles card, press ACCEPT, then PLAY. You are matched with a partner and put against another duo.

Can I pick my own teammate instead of a random one?

Yes. The lobby shows two OPEN PARTY slots either side of your character; use Party & Invite at the bottom-left to send a friend a link, and they fill one of the slots. You then queue into 2v2 together as a fixed pair.

Is this the same game as 1v1.LOL?

No, and that is deliberate. 1v1.LOL Reloaded — the game on our home page — replaced its old 2v2 button with a Solo/Duo toggle, so there is no longer a 2v2 mode in it. This page runs 2v2.io instead, which kept a real 2v2 Doubles mode alongside Box Fight and Zone Wars. Use the switch above the player to move between the two.

Does it work without other players online?

Yes. Every mode card carries a Play Offline option, so you can load 2v2, Box Fight or Zone Wars against bots when you just want to practise, or when matchmaking is quiet.

Is 2v2 free, and does it need an account?

It is free and you can play as a guest — the lobby generates a nickname for you. Logging in only keeps your skins, clan, missions and Pass progress between devices.

Does 2v2 run on a school Chromebook?

Yes. It is a browser build served over ordinary HTTPS with no plugin and no install, so any device that can open this page can play it. If the game warns about low FPS, turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings.
