Is 1v1.LOL Shut Down? What Happened on 3 November 2025 and How to Still Play

Short answer: yes, the official 1v1.LOL is shut down. JustPlay.LOL, the studio that made it, turned the servers off on 3 November 2025. The Steam listing, the mobile apps and the old website all stopped working on that day, and any coins, skins or battle-pass progress on an official account went with them.

Long answer: the game itself did not die. What you press Play on at the top of this site is 1v1.LOL Reloaded, a revival that a group of players rebuilt on their own servers after the shutdown. Same building, same weapons, same maps — different people running it. This post explains the difference so you know exactly what you are getting.

What JustPlay.LOL announced

The shutdown notice went up in October 2025 on Steam and in the game's launcher: the service would end on 3 November, and unused items or currency would not be refunded or transferred. No reason beyond "the current operating model is not sustainable" was given, but the numbers said enough. On Steam, the game had drifted to fewer than a hundred concurrent players in its final months, down from the tens of thousands that played the browser version in 2020 and 2021. The studio had also been part of Playtika since it was acquired, and Playtika's focus is mobile casual games, not a free browser shooter.

After 3 November, opening the official site or the Steam client got you a connection error and nothing else. That is the "1v1.LOL not working" moment most people searching this question ran into.

What 1v1.LOL Reloaded is

1v1.LOL Reloaded is a community-run continuation. It is not affiliated with JustPlay.LOL or Playtika; it is run by players who rebuilt the server side so the existing game client could talk to something again. In practice that means:

  • The game plays the same. Same third-person camera, the same five build pieces, the same edit system, the same shotgun-and-rifle loop. Anyone who played before the shutdown will not need to relearn anything.
  • Matchmaking is live. Ranked 1v1 Clash, Battle Royale, Zone Wars, Build Race and a set of custom party modes all have queues. Population is smaller than the official game at its peak, so off-peak waits are longer than they used to be.
  • Progress is separate. Your official account, level, coins and cosmetics did not carry over — there was no way for a third party to import them. You can play as a guest with nothing saved, or sign in with Google so rank, stats and unlocks persist.
  • It runs in the browser. The WebGL build is what this site embeds. A Windows client and an Android build also exist for people who want it native.

Is it safe? Is it legal?

Safe, in the sense that matters: the browser build runs inside your tab with the same permissions as any other web page, installs nothing and asks for nothing beyond an optional Google sign-in. Legal is murkier, the way every fan revival is — the original developer has not endorsed it, but has not moved against it either, and the project publishes its own client rather than redistributing the Steam one. If that ever changes we will update this post.

What is different from the old game

  • No official 2v2 ladder. Duo queues exist, but the separate 2v2 mode the original had is not back. For a real two-against-two with Box Fight and Zone Wars, the 2v2 game on this site is a different title built for exactly that.
  • Cosmetics and shop. A locker and shop exist, but the catalogue is not the original one and nothing you bought before the shutdown is in it.
  • Anti-cheat. Rebuilt from scratch. It is decent but not the original's; report obvious aimbots in-game rather than in our comments.

How to play right now

  1. Go to the 1v1.LOL page and press Play. The client is a few tens of megabytes on first load and cached after that.
  2. Pick Solo or Duo on the bar left of PLAY, then Change Mode for 1v1 Clash, Battle Royale, Free Build or the practice modes.
  3. Check the default keybinds before your first ranked match — the wall is on Z in this build, not Q, and that catches out everyone who learned on the 2020 layout.
  4. If it stutters, the lag and frame-rate guide covers hardware acceleration, Chromebook settings and the two in-game options that matter.

Will the official 1v1.LOL come back?

Nothing suggests it. The studio's other titles were retired around the same time, the domain has not shown a new game since, and Playtika has not mentioned the brand. Reloaded is the game now, and it has been stable since early 2026. We will keep this page current if either side of that changes.
